A Mythological Sonnet
INSPIRED BY A MYTH OR CREATURES OF MYTHOLOGY
- Baku - An auspicious beast who can devour nightmares.Baku came into my room and killed it.Dream so bad it brought such grief and torment,Waiting for a night that wasn't moonlitReared its head at my first sleeping moment.Squinted eyes I plunged them in my pillow.Baku didn't let me see him working.Planning his approach next to the willow.Captured nightmares only see him smirking.Strength unmatched the Baku leaves dreams writhingHiding out of sight for quick deploymentFully conquered bad dreams don't survive him.He lets good dreams stay for my enjoyment"Bad dreams are my food" is his confession. When will nightmares ever learn their lesson?By Cheryl Crockett#Sonnet #Poem
