Playing With Words ~ A Children's Poetry Month Activity

  • Do any of your children like reading or writing poetry?
  • Have you noticed your child has a particular gift with words?
  • Are your family/friends receiving custom hand-written greeting cards from your child(ren)
  • Would you like to help your children discover their hidden poetic gift?
If you answered "YES" to any of these questions, you and your child are invited to join Cheryl Crockett @poetatete for:

PLAYING WITH WORDS ~ A Children's Poetry Month Activity

Advance Registration Required: The $10 nonrefundable registration fee covers use of the facility, kids' snack, and printed materials especially designed for the activity.

The event content is targeted to Grades 4 – 7,  and will include an entertaining presentation of poetic technique followed by hands-on exercises and an opportunity to read poems in front of the group

Children, who learn to write poetry, often earn better grades. The activity will help your child impress the English teacher during the poetry unit at school and will benefit them in any class that requires them to express themselves in writing.

On-line registration is now available on eventbrite.

The host will also share the creative secrets that helped her win one local poetry contest.

Parents/Guardians are welcomed (they can assist children when they need to review the activity at home). Due to limited space, first priority for seating will be given to registered child participants.

Children should bring a notebook and their favorite pen (or pencil)
